This Privacy Policy explains how Drivewise Solutions Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the Driving Theory Exam App (the “App”) or visit drwsl.com (the “Site”).
We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What data we collect
Depending on how you use our services, we may collect the following categories of data:

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
3. How and why we use your data
We use your personal data for the following purposes, on the lawful bases shown:
- To provide the App and your account — delivering questions, saving your progress, and syncing across devices. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- To improve our content and features — understanding which topics learners find difficult and fixing bugs. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- To provide customer support — responding to your questions and requests.Lawful basis: legitimate interests / performance of a contract.
- To send service messages — important notices about your account, security, or changes to our terms. Lawful basis: performance of a contract / legal obligation.
- To send marketing, where you have asked us to.Lawful basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations.Lawful basis: legal obligation.
4. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, including:
- Apple App Store and Google Play — app distribution, in-app purchases and subscription management.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — storing app and website data.
- Analytics and crash reporting providers — diagnosing faults and understanding feature usage.
- Google Maps — the map embedded on our Contact page is served by Google, which receives your IP address when that page loads.
We may also disclose data where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.
5. International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) to ensure your data receives an equivalent level of protection.
6. How long we keep your data
- Account and learning data — for as long as your account is active.
- After account deletion — erased or irreversibly anonymised within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records for legal or accounting purposes.
- Transaction records — retained for up to 6 years to meet UK tax and accounting obligations.
- Support correspondence — retained for up to 24 months.
7. How we protect your data
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular review of our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the Information Commissioner’s Office of any qualifying breach without undue delay.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- be informed about how your data is used;
- request access to the personal data we hold about you;
- request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request erasure of your data (the “right to be forgotten”);
- request restriction of processing;
- request portability of your data in a machine-readable format;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests, or to direct marketing;
- withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our lawful basis.
To exercise any of these rights — including deletion of your account and all associated data — email info@drwsl.com with the subject “Data Deletion Request”. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or by calling 0303 123 1113.
9. Cookies and similar technologies
This Site sets no cookies of its own, and uses only the local storage strictly necessary for it to function. Where we use analytics, we do so in a privacy-respecting way and will ask for your consent first if required. The App may store data locally on your device so you can study offline.
The one exception is the map embedded on our Contact page. It is loaded from Google, which receives your IP address and may set its own cookies when that page opens. That processing is governed by Google’s privacy policy, not this one. No other page on this Site loads third-party content, and links to the app stores, WhatsApp or our other websites load nothing until you click them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Where changes are significant, we will notify you in the App or by email.
